We inform you that in the month of April, The Mureş Tourism Association organized 5 information sessions on rural tourism. Two of them (in Gurghiu – 17th of April and Deda – 23rd of April) were carried out in cooperation with the local councils of Gurghiu, Deda, and The Mountain Rescue Service, and the other three (in the localities: Eremieni – 24th of April, Câmpu Cetăţii- 25th of April, Ibăneşti – 26th of April), in cooperation with Agrom-Ro, an institute accredited by the Ministry of Tourism to organize courses in rural tourism. The main issues that were tackled are the following:
- the meaning of rural tourism and its importance as an alternative income source and in the development of sustainable tourism in the county
- the accreditation of rural pensions: legal procedure, the criteria that have to be fulfilled by the pensions
- sources of financing in rural tourism
- examples of success in rural tourism in our county and possible models to follow
- the role of The Mountain Rescue Public Service in tourism
Both local counsellors and natural persons interested in the development of rural tourism on the Mureş and Gurghiu valleys, have attended the presentations from Gurghiu and Deda, while the presentations from Eremieni, Câmpu Cetăţii and Ibăneşti were attended by the Agrom-Ro students, meaning individuals that wish to obtain a licence in agro-tourism, and eventually open pensions in the area or work as tourism agents.
